Poor decision by the PCB to postpone the Test series against Sri Lanka. They need to be playing Test Cricket in order to prepare for the challenging Test series in Australia in November. They last played Test Cricket in the first half of January. They should have played the two Tests in October as initially planned even if it had to be in the United Arab Emirates and get their much awaited World Test Championship campaign up and running.
Bringing regular international cricket back to Pakistan is obviously important, but Sri Lanka would have no problems in sending a team to play ODIs and T20Is if that had to be postponed as there is not a whole lot of relevance riding on those games from a cricketing point of view and therefore even if they had to send a weakened team they wouldn’t mind too much. When there are 60 World Test Championship points up for grabs in a two Test affair it is understandably a different story because they obviously will be reluctant to send a second string squad when there is so much riding on the Tests with the introduction of the WTC. And hence those postponed Tests are unlikely to be played in Pakistan at a later date in any case unless they can convince their top Test players to make the trip.
