Interview with Jarrod Kimber

Jarrod Kimber is an Author, Broadcaster, Award Winning Documentary Maker and Historian on all things cricket. Jarrod has written for various websites such as ESPN Cricinfo, Wisden and Dawn to name a few. He is a popular, successful and well recognised figure in the cricketing media industry, despite making a late entrance into the field. He has also commentated for Talk Sport. Jarrod possesses a wealth of knowledge on the economics and governance of the world game at various different levels. He kindly gave up his time in his busy schedule to chat to Abdullah about his career and views on different issues in the modern game. We chat on topics such as The Hundred, Pavel Florin, International Cricket in Pakistan, Lack of India vs Pakistan Test Cricket, Specialist coaching for different forms of cricket, The World Test Championship, The termination of the Champions Trophy and also look ahead to the next global cricketing event in the form of the 2020 Twenty20 World Cup in his home country. But before all that, Jarrod reflects on his journey into cricket journalism and his influences and inspirations along the way. He also gives us an insightful account into a typical day of covering a game of cricket in a press box environment. It was a pleasure to meet Jarrod and tap into his extraordinary passion and knowledge of the game and his remarkable career journey within it. The interview also involves a couple of rapid fire predictions in the concluding stages. I once more would like to thank Jarrod for his time and participation. Also, thank you to the viewers and listeners for visiting this page and I hope you enjoy it.
