Ramiz Raja Left Out By Sky Sports

Wasim Akram will be part of the Sky commentary panel for Pakistan’s forthcoming Test series in England. Ramiz Raja has been left out.

Wasim Akram has only ever commentated in four Test matches Pakistan have been involved in during the 2018 Test tour of England where he commentated in the two match series and in the 2019 Test tour of Australia where he also commentated in the two match series.

Ramiz Raja was not invited by Sky for the white ball matches in 2016, the Test series in 2018 or the white ball matches prior to the World Cup in 2019. Waqar Younis did the white ball games in 2019 whereas Wasim did the white ball games in 2016 and the Tests in 2018.

It will be a different sort of English summer with no Geoffrey Boycott for TMS, no David Gower, no Ian Botham and sadly no Bob Willis either on TV or radio following the end of their broadcasting contracts and in Bob’s case sadly his demise last December following an illness. These experienced broadcasters and former English greats were such familiar presences during an English cricketing summer. It will be strange not seeing or hearing them around. They all loved their Test Cricket and played for their country with distinction.
