Interview with Tahir Khan

Tahir Khan is an off spinner who took over 300 first class wickets, but never got an international cap. He represented Pakistan “A”, PIA and has made it to the Pakistan Test squad in 2006 for their tour of Sri Lanka. The finger spinner last made a first class appearance in 2016. Additionally, Tahir has been a prolific wicket taker in the Durham league for Tynemouth who he played for in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Questions and topics include:

Who does he rate higher between Ashwin and Nathan Lyon?

How does he rate Dom Bess?

What does he think of Sajid Khan who is making a strong impression in the Quaid e Azam Trophy as an off spinner?

Did he get the chance to pick the brains of Muralitharan on the 2006 Test tour of Sri Lanka?

Playing alongside another Tahir in Imran Tahir at Pakistan “A” around 2005 under Misbah ul Haq’s leadership.

What does he enjoy more in his new life, coaching or media work?

Why did he make his last first class appearance at the age of 35 given spinners tend to mature late?

Watch the interview to find out his answers……..

Apologies for the echo in the questions I asked, but his responses can be clearly heard nonetheless.
