Aayush Puthran of Mumbai and Cricbuzz is the author of “Unveiling Jazbaa” – a book on Pakistan Women’s Cricket, published in the summer of 2022. He joins me (Abdullah) for a chat about the book and Women’s Cricket in Pakistan which has a fascinating and controversial history. We touch on both the past and the present.
The book reflects on Pakistan’s 25 year journey as an international women’s team. But there is also plenty of background with the build up to Pakistan’s first international appearance which came on 28th January 1997 against New Zealand in Christchurch. Funnily this episode was recorded on 28th January 2023 – the 26th anniversary of Pakistan’s debut as an international side.
