India and Pakistan will lock horns on 15th February at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Colombo. The two sides have previously met at the 2012 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka too.
There have been close encounters between India and Pakistan at the last two T20 World Cups in Melbourne and New York respectively, where India managed to cross the line despite being outplayed for majority of the match.
The two rivals last met in a match in Sri Lanka during the Men’s Asia Cup of 2023 which was played in the fifty over format.
India and Pakistan have played a World Cup match on 15th February before during the 2015 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in Adelaide. That was also a Sunday.
The Women’s sides of the respective nations will also clash at the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup at Edgbaston on Sunday 14th June in the first ever Women’s T20 World Cup comprising twelve teams.
